Blooming with Family Yoga
Family Yoga is one of those practices that can truly help your family bond. It's a family activity which creates space for everyone to be present to each other in a different way. Children are able to see their parents in a fun and open way.
These are some of the threads that are woven into every Family Yoga Class:
YOUR FAMILY IS A TEAM
Every Bloom Family Yoga Class includes a family activity. This is premised on the belief that your family is a team. We build a harmonious team by bringing our gifts and creativity to create something together. Whether it's vision boarding or crafting , each members contribution is honoured and deeply felt. Perfection is not the aim. a child may colour outside the lines or make a blob with a glue stick. In a non competitive space , parents are encouraged to not micro manage the process to attain a vision of perfection, but rather to committ to the experience of togetherness.
PLAY IS LEARNING
Yoga poses at Family Yoga are both fun and challenging . It's not uncommon for children to have a little giggle at their parents or siblings . In a moment of playful vulnerability we get to be be silly and free . If I fall out of tree pose then I rise back up again. This is'nt just play, it's social learning taking place. Lessons that can be transferred into daily life and build a family's value system.
STILLNESS AND CONNECTION ARE INVALUABLE GIFTS
One of the most beautiful elements of Family Yoga is sharing savasana together. Breathing and relaxing as a family. Every person is a space of harmony. This is deeply healing . Holding hands while connecting to the breath invites a cycle of loving energy . It's akin to receiving an energetic hug , having a feeling of being encircled in peace and in love.
UNITED THROUGH YOGA
Yoga means " union" and Family Yoga is wonderful way to experience union with and in your family. I am looking forward to sharing this practice with more families and groups. Bloom Yoga Strenghtening your bonds from the roots.
